ELABORATION

15 months of ageing “sur lie” with “batonnage” * in Slovenian oak barrels.

*Ageing on natural fine lees, which is raisaed at regular intervals during a period of time between 2 – 6 months.

COLOUR

Dark red cherry.

NOSE

Intense aromas of red fruits and aromatic plants of scrubland: laurel and thyme.

MOUTH

Red fruits, aromatic plants and coffee. A harmonious and friendly wine with lively acidity and a persistent finish.

CLIMATOLOGY

A cold spring in general with rain in January; in February nothing fell. The outbreak began on March 15 with quite cold, but it did not affect the snowfall of the 17th. May was very warm, the flowering began on the 10th and ended on the 31st. This year it was a very slow flowering, but nevertheless quite uniform by variety. On July 18 the veraison began. The end of July and at the beginning of August, it was very hot with some days with 40ºC. We started the harvest on 19.08.20 with Pinot Noir and finished it on 11.09.20 with our Petit Verdot. Almost the same as the previous year. We once again achieved a harvest with excellent quality, there were only two varieties with a little less production than in other years, suffered by the heat and the lower rainfall of the previous year. Thanks to ecological and biodynamic work, wines with very good extraction and fruity, high acidity and moderate alcohol came out, with a very fresh and Atlantic style.
